Volunteers Needed

The Clarke County Republicans are looking for some volunteers, as are a couple of our Candidates.  Chairman, Ray Negley, is trying to coordinate some poll watchers for election day to cover all of our polling locations.  If you or someone you know may be able to help out, please contact Ray.  Contact information is on the "About" page.

The John Archer campaign is also looking for volunteers to do some door knocking around Clarke County.  Joleen DeVore is the local contact person for this effort and can be contacted at: joleenalexdev@yahoo.com

Finally, Dan Hooper who is running for Clarke County Supervisor in District 3 is putting together a "Get Out The Vote" phone bank effort.  He is also looking for volunteers that would be able to make some calls to Clarke County residents.  If you'd like to help out with this effort you can contact Dan at 641-414-1002

News and Information

Hot off the press!

Last night the Clarke County Republican Central Committee held their monthly meeting.  We had a lot of business to attend to, but also wanted to thank everyone who had helped make the previous weeks events such a success.

On the 15th we held a massive "Lit Drop", the likes of which Clarke County had never seen before.  Thanks to some very kind donations and volunteer work we were able to get almost the entire towns of Osceola and Murray covered door-to-door with campaign literature for our current candidates.

Then this past Saturday (22nd) we had two major events happening.  The Family Research Council and the Heritage Foundation came into Osceola with their Values Bus Tour.  Pastor Matt Floyd (of Calvary Bible Church) was the event emcee which saw a good turnout with lots of information presented to our residents.  Later that afternoon, the Clarke County GOP held a Fall Picnic fundraiser.  This was a well attended event and provided a great opportunity for us to be able to generate some much needed donations as well as getting our candidates in front of our community.  We were also blessed with one of the most beautiful renditions of the National Anthem by local talent, Jenna Sandquist.

If you'd like to see some pictures from these and past events, click here and look at the photo slideshow.  Special thank you to Joleen DeVore and Joshua Verwers for pictures.

There were two major pieces of business that were then taken up and voted upon that directly affect our Central Committee.  First, seven amendments were made to our bylaws to help clear up some wording, provide more continuity with our State Party, and provide for smooth operation to our meetings.  Secondly, we took up a vote to fill the vacancy in Co-Chair.  We would like to officially congratulate Joshua Verwers on becoming our new Co-Chair.

With just 41 days left until the general election we are gearing up with hopeful anticipation of many Republican victories.
